There
are certain types of questions that we come across in SSC exam, which do not
fall under any of the categories that we have discussed in the previous
chapters. The question may be based on forming new words from a given word, identifying
a word that cannot be formed from a given word, arranging a given set of words
in a logical sequence etc. Let us understand the concepts involved in these
questions with the help of the following examples.
(i)
Forming a new word using the letters in the given word : While forming a new
word no letters of the given word can be used more number of times than it
appears in the given word. Let us consider a word ARRANGE. While forming a new
word the letters A and R can be used upto two times in the new word but the
letters N,G and E cannot be used more than once. ERR is a word that can be
formed because the letter R is given twice in ARRANGE but GREEN cannot be
formed because E is not given twice in ARRANGE.
Worked out examples :

(ii)
Arranging the given words in a logical sequence : A set of related words are
given and the candidate is asked to arrange them in a logical sequence. The
words may be terms in a process. For example it may be a process of preparing
for an exam. The question may also be based on arranging the given words in the
order in which they appear in dictionary.
